Screenshots and printing to PDFs on windows

I needed to take a screenshot and among all the programs I tried, MWSnap was the best. It was free and had good capture args.

Next, printing to PDFs. OS X does this natively, but windows cannot. The solution? Another free app called PrimoPDF. They have pay versions with more features, but the base version does everything I wanted. It shows up as a printer and any app can print to it. Simple and effective.

Finally! vmstat on os x

I spent the last 6 months trying to find vmstat on my mac. (I think other people have, too.) Turns out its there and called vm_stat. Not only is the name non-standard, but the program doesn't display cpu data. Whatever. Better than nothing.

Self-directed IRAs

I was looking to convert my 401(k) from my last employer to a rollover IRA. If so, perhaps one from PENSCO would be good, since they're very flexible. You can own real estate, annuities, tax liens... pretty much anything that's legal. But, their offerings are somewhat expensive.
